2008 NCIP Awards -update below!
This years NCIP Banquet will be held at the Kearney Holiday Inn Hotel on November 14, 2008.  Four members of Farnam Economic Development have registered to attend this years banquet, Betty Hoppe-Stevens, Dan Widick, Jennifer Barrett and Triscia Clafflin.  With their attendance they will be able to network with other community volunteers, such as themselves, from all over Nebraska.   During the banquet, Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy will present the NCIP Awards and Don Gill, "The Voice of Nebraska" will be master of ceremonies.  The conference focuses on building the leadership, community and economic development in rural Nebraska. This will help to create a more sustainable state.  This years conference theme is "Renewable Nebraska".  The program provides communities with a process through which they can organize, set goals, prioritize projects, develop local leadership, identify resources and implement projects.

Each year, NCIP awards communities for their economic, community and leadership development efforts.  Once these awards have been distributed to all the different Nebraska communities, including Farnam, I will have a list of all the Awards Farnam won.

GOOD LUCK FARNAM !!!!!

Congratulations Farnam!!
Farnam received the top award at the NCIP awards banquet in Kearney amongst other prominent awards.  The Otto G. Hoiberg Award, the highest honor given to communities, was given to Farnam for our outstanding involvement in community events, including all ages and how we work hard to make our town shine!  The NCIP officials described Farnam as being a model community for NCIP.  The other awards Farnam was recognized for were Community Development, Youth Leadership and Tourism Promotion.  We also received a Good Neighbor Award with Eustis for our partnership efforts during the flood last spring.   With both our communities helping each other in times of crisis, Eustis and Farnam were recognized for our helping hands.  More than 200 community volunteers and leaders attended the celebration for all the efforts each and every community strives for.  Congratulation to all the other communities who won awards that night.  With a special Congratulation to our small town of Farnam for bringing home SEVERAL awards and the Otto G. Hoiberg award.  Your efforts to make Farnam the best small town community to live in has not gone unnoticed!!  Thank you and Congratulations Farnam!!
